Does SupplierHQ replace Shopify's built-in vendor field?

No — it works alongside it. You can optionally sync a SupplierHQ vendor's name back onto a product's Shopify vendor field, but your existing product data is never overwritten without you triggering it.

Yes. The setup wizard's import step scans your product catalog's vendor field, creates a SupplierHQ vendor profile for each distinct name, and auto-links each vendor to their current Shopify products in one step.

No. You can start from zero — add a vendor, link a couple of products, and create your first purchase order in a few minutes.

Can vendors log into my Shopify admin?

Never. On the Enterprise plan, vendors get a separate token-based portal link that only exposes their own purchase orders and shared documents — no Shopify access of any kind.

How does the automatic inventory sync actually work?

When you mark a purchase order line item as received, and that line item is linked to a real Shopify variant, SupplierHQ adjusts that variant's inventory in Shopify immediately. Line items without a linked variant only update the quantity on the PO itself.

What happens when a reorder rule triggers?

Depending on how you configure the rule, you'll get a stock alert, or SupplierHQ will auto-draft a new purchase order for that vendor so you can review and send it.

No. Every vendor, purchase order, document, and communication record is scoped to your store's shop domain — there is no shared or cross-store data anywhere in the app.

SupplierHQ implements Shopify's mandatory GDPR webhooks (shop/redact, customers/redact, customers/data_request) and removes your store's data according to Shopify's standard compliance timeline.
